New Version for Flash for i _ New Release Control for i

M81 technical newsletter provides you with important information about our products updates.
1. **New version V5.0** for Flash for i (16 Oct 23)
Main change being securing access to product objects with 2 authorization lists (See below for full list of change).
This new version officially confirms the successive upgrades we made in a “DevOps” process on the product, over the past 2.5 years(1).
For OS Versions 7.1 and 7.2, Release V4.14 is the last that will be supported, and will no longer evolve.
The upgrade to V5.0 is free for all existing customers with a maintenance contract.
2. New release V3.22 for Control for i (13 Nov 23).

You can download the latest versions of our products on the M81 Downloads Webpage(2).
It is not necessary to update (3) to the latest release, but you can take advantage of new useful features, and upgrading usually takes only about 10 to 15 minutes.

(1) V4.0 Flash for i was launched in January 2021, 14 updates have been released since. We typically release updates 3 to 4 times a year on our products. Our objectives are to include customer feedback, to address major technical advancements in the market, and to continually enhance the usability and stability of our products.
2) To access files in this webpage, please provide your email and password. If needed, you can automatically regenerate your password. If you do not have any password, please fill the contact form with ” Profile request for download” checked.
(3) To determine the current version and release of the product you are using, use the command FLDSPINF for Flash for i and CTDSPINF for Control for i.
Flash for i – New Version October 2023 (Documentation= V5.0)
A new version of Flash for i is available at www.m81.eu (Intranet/ Download page).
The new features since the previous release ( August 2023) are the following:
- Flash for i product access permissions
- New DRP support module (4)
- Central management, new FLCHKLOGC command
- FLSTRLPAR, new KEYLOCK parameter
- Calling a program in the alerts module
For OS Versions 7.1 and 7.2, Release V4.14 is the last that will be supported, and will no longer evolve.
Miscellaneous:
- Refer to the chapter “3.1 Change of version” of the Flash for i documentation
- If the product is installed in version 4, changing the version does not require any special operation, except regarding the access rights to the product.
- The V4 key remains valid in V5.

A new release of Control for i is available at www.m81.eu (Intranet/ Download page).
The new features since the previous release ( Sept 2023) are the following:
- New version of the Windows plugin
- CTCHKUSR, improved operation
- CTCHKCFGST, Detailed status added
- New CTCHKBRMST command: Count pending DUPMEDBRMs
- Remote upgrade and key entry
- Various fixes and improvements
